Newbattle Summer Fair
Celebrate summer with 3D2D Events at Newbattle Abbey, Dalkeith
12th July 2024, 10am - 5pm
3D2D Events will once again be hosting a one day event promoting Art, Craft & Design on the ground floor of the Abbey. Those of you there at Christmas will be familiair with the Undercroft and it’s neighbouring areas, which have an incredible atmosphere. We are taking over the whole college this year, so will not be installing our market stalls on the tarmac area at the front, but are planning to have a variety of food stalls in the outside area.
Previous summer events at Newbattle have traditionally been very well supported by the local community and we expect that to continue this year. We'll be letting the numerous local community groups know about the event and will look to work with them to increase what we can offer here.
Entry is free and all are welcome.

New for 2025 - Bookable Demonstration Space.
To keep things fresh, and to find new ways to attract customers, we are going to introduce a very limited number of demonstration stalls. This will be an area dedicated to demonstrations from exhibiting crafters and could include a demonstration of a skill or technique or a short “taster” workshop. If you were to host a workshop onsite you may charge a small fee to cover costs.
We hope this addition may attract more visitors and will encourage people to stay longer within the event. It will also help reinforce the fact that all exhibitors create the work which they sell.
Details have not been finalised but we envisage perhaps two short sessions throughout the day of up to an hour each which should relate directly to the work you are selling and should help highlight and direct people to your selling stall (which will be elsewhere in the building).
If you do not have someone with you on the day, we hope to be able to offer a member of staff to cover your stall while your demonstration or workshop is in progress.
You will be able to indicate if this would be of interest on the application form, and we will then invite people to apply for these spaces at a later date. (Please book your normal space in the meantime.)
Inside the Armoury
Stalls
Stalls include a table and chair. These are all Open Space stalls (nothing to be hung or lent on walls). Tables are either 5.5ft or 6ft depending on the available space in the odd shaped rooms of the College. You have the option of your chair being behind (deep stall) or beside your table (shallow stall). Corners are available at an additional fee. These are very limited. While you can’t book the size of table, please request the size you’d prefer in the requests box of the application form. We’ll do our best to meet your requests!

Power
Limited spaces with power inside and it is not guaranteed - bring battery powered lights if needed.
Payment
Once you have been allocated a space you will receive confirmation in the form of a single invoice to be paid within two weeks. Please ensure payment is made promptly. There are new bank details this year - please ensure you send payment to the correct account!
When you complete your application form online you will see a note at the end saying you have submitted the application. You will also receive a copy to the email address you provided on the application form.
Full refund if you cancel your booking up to six weeks before the event - less a £50 cancellation fee.

Set up
Set up on Friday afternoon from 3 – 5pm or Saturday morning from 8.30am.
Breakdown on Sat evening
